Other places to buy gift wrap
| Kind of shop | For example | Good for | Before you go |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stationery and bookshops | B2S and mall stationery shops | Today, close to home | Range varies by branch; call ahead for a specific pattern |
| Homeware and everyday stores | Mr. DIY, IKEA | Buying alongside other things | Usually rolls or packs; designs change with the season |
| Wholesale gift-wrap district | Sampeng | Bulk and company gifts | Huge choice and low price per sheet; mostly sold by the roll or pack |
| Online marketplaces | Shopee, Lazada | Specific prints | You can’t feel the paper; check reviews and sheet size, and ask if it ships rolled |
Six things to check wherever you buy
- Sheet size. A 50 × 70 cm sheet wraps one 20 × 20 × 10 cm box; smaller sheets often need joining.
- Weight. 100 gsm and up won’t tear at the corners or let the box show through.
- Matte or gloss. Matte looks soft and hides fingerprints; gloss is brighter but reflects light.
- Rolled, not folded. Folds from the packet end up on the box.
- Does the pattern join? If you need two sheets, a pattern that meets itself hides the seam.
- How many gifts it covers. Count your gifts first, then check the paper calculator.
